he joyfully declares that "as long as you're good [meaning as long as I
behave myself, take care of myself, continue on a spiritual path] you'll be THE
MAN." This makes me feel good, secure; I sense that everything

will work out just fine. We're at
his place. He demonstrates a climbing method using specially braided rope
devices. At one point he tests an obstacle by throwing a towel wrapped
around an unseen object through the space to be negotiated, which toss itself
is demonstrative of his mastery of some discipline that remains unknown to
me. Later it turns out the object in the towel was a gyroscope, something
soon to disappear from toy and science stores because the government doesn't
want the gyroscope's secret physical properties to become common knowledge
among the general public.
