Awaken 9:45 am, sluggish after last night out with ----- and 6am good-byes. Groggy, disoriented still from the previous night's all-nighter at the club followed by a 5-hr computer session with -----. Fortunately I'm all packed. The cell phone rings just as I've finished swallowing my five handfuls of vitamins and herbs; the taxi is outside. New York is dreary and rainy and cold.
Flight relatively uneventful.
Snacks I can't eat. Full. No problems, though.
My hotel for the night, Ramada Inn
Speedway Casino, is located in a neighborhood most cabbies practice to
avoid. The place itself is OK, but cabfare from the airport makes just
over $30 and to downtown and back another $30. Should have just booked
something a little more expensive on the strip. Live and learn.
Baby plays a 9-point match, losing at double match point but scoring a not terrible 4.22 (without training wheels), takes a shower. Tries to get the bus but is thwarted by the impoverished aspect of the housing immediately adjacent to the bus stop. Taxi. Baby plays a little 1-4-8 hold 'em in Binion's Horseshoe and treats himself to his very first lap dance (with contact) at Glitter Gulch. A lovely, educated Texan with the most beautiful skin. No real killer erection, but arousal of the friendlier kind and a smile on his face as he happily coughs up more dough.... $30 for the dancer, $20 for 2 drinks, about another $10 in bar tips. This is a day to be spending freely.
I walked all over downtown, got bored and hungry and tired, had chicken wings at Rock Race with a Caesar salad. Nice. Low food intake overall today; lots of sleeping on plane (great views approaching Vegas, as an aside).
Sense
of indulgence, optimism, like I can feel my dice getting ready to show me
something inneresting. No alcohol; it makes me feel queasy these
days. No buzz, just a weird poisony feeling. A result of the diet
or two weeks' abstinence or both? How can I possibly enjoy my vacation if
i'm not continuously beer buzzed?? Hah! easier than it seems.
I feel fine.
